Rudi Garcia is aiming for a better Champions League campaign

During the 2014-15 season of the Champions League, As.Roma failed to make it out of the group stages as the Italian team only won 1 match in these stages of the European competition as they went through a disappointing campaign.
Truth be told, it was a very difficult group as As.Roma was pitted along with Bayern Munich, Manchester City and CSKA Moscow in group E of the previous season. Even though it was a very complicated group, As.Roma was expected to do better as they could only win 1 match and lost 3 while having to settle with 2 draws.
Luis Enrique wants to see his team make a better campaign in their upcoming Champions League season.
As.Roma’s Luis Enrique voiced his Champions League ambitions as he told reporters: ‘’We want to improve and get one round further at least. I'm sure we have gained valuable experience last year and I'm sure it will be a valuable lesson’’

Luis Enrique believes that his team will perform better in the next Champions League season but even if they do make it past the group stages, getting much further than that is a task that is just out of the reach of As.Roma as they do not have the same world class players and sufficiently large transfer budget to compete against the top clubs in Europe.

The primary focus of As.Roma is taking away the Serie A title from Juventus who have been winning the Italian League for the past 4 years but Rudi Garcia thinks that his squad can end the dominance of Juventus but in order for this to happen As.Roma needs to have a strong start in the upcoming season which kicks off on August 22.

"Right from the start line we must be ready to dive straight into the season. In the first round we'll face Hellas Verona, then immediately host Juventus. We must make sure we are ready for games like this, rapidly getting new players integrated into the squad. When we change, it is important to keep in mind the time it takes to adapt. I saw that in the final rounds some other intriguing games await us." Rudi Garcia added on.
