MANAGER DOES WELL
Roma manager Aurelio Andreazzoli has done an extremely good job at the club in the short time since he replaced Zdenek Zeman.
He has been in charge of the club only since February, but he has been secure a top six finish for the club following the 2-1 win over Napoli in the final game of the Italian Serie A. They also have a Coppa Italia match against their arch rivals Lazio as well. Roma are the favourites to win this match because they have been on a brilliant run of form in the last few months.
They have just suffered one defeat – against Chievo in the league – in almost 10 matches. This impressive run of form is enough to suggest that he is the right man for the job according to Andreazzoli. Even as he acknowledges that it may take a while to convince the board about the same, he is hoping to remain as the Roma manager on a permanent basis. Roma almost snatched a fourth place spot from the hands of Udinese, but ultimately the dropped points earlier in the season proved to be an ultimate failure.
Still, they can look forward to starting the next campaign in a bright fashion. Andreazzoli has been with Roma as an assistant manager for two spells.
"I’ve been here since 2005 and the new owners have backed me. I’ll be happy if they call me again to work for this club, if not, no problem. Whatever the club decides, I’ll know before anyone else. Will the result of the Coppa Italia final be important for my future here at Roma? I can’t answer that question at this moment in time. I believe you need to make an overall assessment when it comes to work, not just based on a few games," said Andreazzoli.
