LIVERPOOL SIGN BORINI

Liverpool have secured the signing of Roma striker Fabio Borini in a deal worth up to £ 11 million. The striker had joined the Italian club only last season, but impressed hugely during the last season helping the club to a respectable finishing the Italian Serie A.

He scored a number of important goals for Roma last season, but the club have now decided to cash in on the striker, who came through the Chelsea youth academy. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers knows Fabio Borini extremely well after having coached him during his time at Swansea when he was on loan. During his loan spell, the Italian striker scored six goals in just 12 matches for the club.

He joins Liverpool in a deal worth up to £ 11 million. It is a major coup for the English club after he was once described by former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has someone who can become the face of Italian football in the next few years. He was, however, allowed to leave Chelsea on a free transfer after the club decided not to extend his contract. After spending a few season's at various clubs, Fabio has found his feet once again at Roma. Borini has said that he is extremely delighted to join a club like Liverpool.

"I've got the trust of the manager. I'm proud to be here. Liverpool is a top club which has won a lot of trophies in the past - and will do so in the future we hope as well. I used to play 4-3-3 with the manager and he is very good to play football for. It is great to play football for him because you can have fun and you can get results. I could see at Swansea the people loved him because the football was attractive. People like to see football played like this," said Borini.
