TOTTI CONSIDERS MOVE TO INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE (ISL)
Francesco Totti, AS Roma legend and World Cup winner with Italy in 2006,reportedly has clubs from the Indian Super League (ISL) pitching offers for him.
With his recent signing for AS Roma in June last year expiring at the end of this month, the veteran striker is preparing to make the move to the ISL.
Close sources to the captain have confirmed the approach by some of the ISL. Totti who bade farewell to his current team last month, will by this move, end his 28 year association with the team.
So far, two ISL clubs have made contact with the player and if he ends up signing a deal with any of the clubs, he stands to become one of the most expensive player ever signed in the history of the ISL.
Before the 2015 ISL, KaluUche was signed by Pune City for two million euros. Just last season, Diego Forlan became the highest earning player after Mumbai City signed him on.
With Totti accepting a deal with any of the clubs, he stands to overtake the two highest signings so far by quite some miles.Also, the likes of EidurGudjohnsen and Dirk Kuythave been singled out to join some of the ISL outfits in anticipation of the upcoming season.
The upcoming ISL campaign will witness a lot of novelties just as the number of teams participating in the upcoming season is set to be increased from eight to ten.
Confirmations coming in from the league yesterday had it that Bengaluru FC and another team owned by Tata Steel will be the new entrants into the ISL.
Totti who scored over 300 goals during his time in AS Roma is expected to come into the ISL with a natural pedigree.
