OSVALDO WILL STAY
The Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo has reiterated his desire to stay with the capital club, despite interest from the likes of AC Milan and Juventus. The Italian international has been linked with a move to AC Milan after the Midlands club recently lost the services of the Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato to Corinthians.
This has left the club extremely short of options up front, with the former Manchester City striker Robinho also expected to leave the club before the end of the transfer window. As a result, they have reportedly zeroed in on the Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo as possible replacement, but Osvaldo has reaffirmed his commitment to Roma.
There have been suggestions that the club's board will be meeting to discuss the possibility of selling him during January, which would also leave Roma with not a lot of options up front. Osvaldo has been one of the main reasons for Roma to be able to challenge for a Champions League spot this season. They are currently in the sixth position, but only a few points behind the second placed Lazio. Osvaldo has been an important goal scorer for them this season after he has managed to score nine goals in just 13 appearances. Only Lamela has more goals than Osvaldo this season.
"I hope that Roma are my future. I never said I wanted to leave Roma. I want to stay for a long time. [The club's hierarchy] only spoke to me to find out if I was okay. The match against Napoli will be a great spectacle for the people. Cavani is better than me, but I think we can get there to move ahead of Napoli. It would be great to win for the scoring charts," said the 26-year-old ahead of the match with Napoli during the weekend.
