Radja Nainggolan has no Regrets over Chelsea Snub
Belgium international Radja Nainggolan has not held a communication line with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte since he snubbed a move to Stamford Bridge last summer.
The Roma midfielder had been Conte's top priority last summer, but he opted to knock back the Italian's offer in order to stay put in Italy.Conte therein followed to sign N'Golo Kante from Leicester City, and he has since gone on to guide the Blues to their second league title in three seasons.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset, Nainggolan insisted that he does not regret his decision, and Conte is probably still angry with his choice.
"I've not spoken to Conte. I think he's still a bit angry with me for last year, maybe," he said in Mediaset'sTiki Taka programme.
"I keep saying the same thing: I get attached to the clubs where I am and, if you gain a certain degree of respect there, it's because you've given something to the club.
"I have a good life here, I like playing where I am and it's not like me to change clubs. I've shown my love."
Nainggolan sparked controversy with an Instragram post last weekend where he expressed his desire to see Juventus on the losing side against Real Madrid in the final. However, he has since clarified his reaction by citing that it was 'just for fun' and a win for their arch rivals would only do good for Italian football in the long run.
Nainggolan has been at the heart of the Belgium defence over the past few years, and he will be hoping to have a top campaign with the Giallorossi next term ahead of a potential challenge for the World Cup next year.Belgium earned the dark horse tag during the previous World Cup in Brazil, and they will no doubt want to reach further than the quarter-final stage they did in 2014.
