ZEMAN WILL MAKE CHANGES
The Roma manager Zdenek Zeman has said that he is certainly not afraid of making changes to the team if the star players are not performing well. Zdenek Zeman left out a number of high profile players for the match against Atlanta during the weekend.
Despite the first team not having the likes of Daniele De Rossi, Nicolas Burdisso, and Pablo Osvaldo, Roma are still able to get a 2-0 victory in the match. As a result of this victory, Roma now are looking to consolidate their fifth position in the table, while also looking to move up the table. Prior to the Atlanta victory, Roma had won just one match in the last four encounters.
As a result, there was pressure on the manager Zdenek Zeman to help Roma qualify for the Champions league next season. It has been mentioned on numerous occasions be the manager, who has also stated that he will be ready to leave out the players respect of their status within the team in order to get the results. He surprised everyone by leaving the likes of Daniele De Rossi on the bench for the match against Atlanta, but goals from Lamela and Bradley were enough to secure victory for the home team.
"I have always said that everyone can play in my team and I chose these 11 players to start. I am interested in what the lads do at this moment and right now I consider this to be the best lineup. We suffered above all at the start of the game, but this win is important for us and everyone around Roma. I do not doubt the quality of De Rossi, Osvaldo and Burdisso as they are important players who I hope can give us a great deal," said Zdenek Zeman after the match.
