During the last season of Mark Hughes as the coach of Queens Park Rangers, the Welshman made a number of high profile signings including: Jose Bosingwa, Julio Cesar, Esteban Granero, Kieron Dyer, Robert Green, Ji-Sung Park, Fabio and Andrew Johnson just to name a few of the players that were signed by Mark Hughes as the coach was hoping to see Queens Park Rangers climb a few spots in the Premier League but it never happened as the club continued sustaining defeats and this led to Mark Hughes being sacked.
