Roma head coach Claudio Ranieri has refused to blame Totti for Roma's defeat to Bayern Munich. The Giallorossi suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Bundesliga giants in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League meeting at the Allianz Arena.
Roma's long-serving captain Totti came under fire for his display in the defeat, although Ranieri has refused to hit out. Rather than criticise Totti's display he fully expects the 33-year-old to return to form in the club's next outing against Bologna.

Phillipe Mexes has revealed that he is unsure of continuing his seven year spell with Roma. Mexes is in the final year of his contract at Roma and could leave on a free transfer next summer.
Roma have offered Mexes a new deal to extend his stay in the Eternal City, but the Frenchman admits he is unsure about staying as his place is under threat from the recent arrival of Nicolas Burdisso.
"Burdisso came back to Roma and it's obvious the competition has increased again," Mexes told France Football.

Roma captain Francesco Totti feels he will always receive scorn from the detractors - no matter what he achieves with his side, as he collected an award for the amount of minutes he has played.
Totti has set a new club record of playing the most minutes with 34,740 racked up in his club career so far. Yet he says he will always be criticised.
"They will always attack me and speak about me even if I reached all the records in the world," he told laroma24.it after receiving the award.

Roma talisman Francesco Totti has admitted that tension got the better of him last night, but accused Inter striker Mario Balotelli of fomenting trouble.
Totti saw red two minutes from the end of the Coppa Italia final for kicking Balotelli’s calf and points the finger at the youngster.
“In a football match, and particularly in key moments of the season, it can happen to be tense,” the 33-year-old writes on his official website.
